Stocking Island - Perfect for a day-long excursion, Stocking Island offers beaches, nature trails and open-air cafes. Just offshore, the underwater Mystery Cave, part of a 400-foot-deep network of caverns, is a popular diving destination. (25-minute drive)
Williams Town - This old settlement contains the remains of the Great Salt Pond and the tall white obelisk that advertised the area's salt and freshwater supplies to passing ships during the 19th century. (1-hour drive)
